In short
- We only mark as “Official” what we have read in a Blizzard source.
- We check a fixed list of official and community sources every week, partly automatically.
- We never treat Retail, later expansions or Season of Discovery data as Forever data.
- Discrepancies are shown, not hidden.
Information status
Every fact in the guide carries one of these badges:
- Official: Published by Blizzard in a source we have read.

- Community: Published by the community or press; we have not read the official original.

Rules we follow
- Forever is neither Retail nor Classic. Even when a spell shares its name with another version (Ice Lance, Arcane Blast, Frostfire Bolt…), values from other versions are not used here.
- Classic data is only used for what Forever has not changed, always with the “Classic reference” badge.
- Third-party calculators and datamined data are not enough on their own. They can be a hint, but they confirm nothing.
- The review date is manual. It only changes when someone checks the content against the sources, not when a file is edited.
- Every update is recorded. When a fact changes, its card shows the date and the history explains what changed and why.
- If it is unknown, we say so. Sections without reliable data show a “Pending” notice.
Sources we check every week
High-priority sources are read automatically (RSS and per-build notes) and produce a weekly report; manual ones are checked by hand.

Open discrepancies
| Topic | What the sources say | What we show |
|---|---|---|
| Fingers of Frost prerequisite | Blizzard: “Pre-requisite of Ice Lance”, but Fingers of Frost is in row 5 and Ice Lance in row 3 | Fingers of Frost most likely requires Ice Lance; pending in-game check |
| End of beta | 21 October (“last full day”) or 22 October (roadmap) | “21–22 October” |
| Magic Attunement | Some sites list it as removed | Per Blizzard, it becomes a baseline ability |
| Dual spec level | 40 in the deep dive; on the official podcast they say they are considering an earlier level (maybe 30) | 40 “for now”, with the caveat |
